Duplicitous Dunne

Mr do as I say not as I do, Peter Dunne, is the leader of a political party that owes a debt of over 85K to the Crown for claiming election expenses that the Crown has ruled his party (United Future) was not entitled to claim.

This is the man who works tooth and nail with his IRD cronies to screw “alleged child tax” from parents who he claims owe a debt to the crown.

Come on Peter Pan, get your Party to pay up what it owes now or instruct your cronies to take it without notice from the party bank account.

Dunne's Double Standard : What do you expect from the Minister for Child Support? Your attitude reflects the arrogance of your cronies at IRD. You wanted the pension plan and the salary, you are responsible and accountable and the whole country is going to see how you encourage and support the festering sore of Child Support Secrecy.

Look into your soul Peter - You are Child Support .

Child Support Truth

P.S. If the penalty regime that Peter Pan supports for his IRD compliance for Child Support Tax was applied to the United Failure Party debt how much money would now be owed to the Crown?

Another post on that one later!

Isn't there a word for being paid for services rendered?

That's right it's called PROSTITUTING yourself.

Good on you, Peter!

An interesting "article".

You may have mis-typed the party name as "United Failure" instead of "United Future".

However, you raise an interesting question of how the current IRD child support penalty model would apply to Dunne's Debt.

Not sure where "85K" came from, so the figure from the Auditor General's report of September 2005 was used. This is reported as $63,882. Interestingly, this is significantly more than the average wage!

This may not be right, but here goes: the child support penalty system accumulates each month. There is an initial "late/non-payment" penalty of 10%.

In Dunny-boy's case this is $6,388.20 and this is added to the initial amount, giving a total of $70,270.20.

Each month after this, the penalty is applied to the total (including penalties) at the rate of 2%.

There are 18 months from October 2005 (the first 2%) to March this year.

As at the first of March 2007, the penalties amount to $36,481.15 and the total you owe, Dunne, is $100,363.15.

The penalties are now slightly over 57% of the original debt. In finance terms, this means your interest rate is a little less than 38% per year.

We think you should contact us, Dunne, and come to an arrangement to pay back to the New Zealand public the money you have STOLEN from us.

Yes, you heard me correctly, you are a petty THIEF. Nothing more and nothing less.

Can the Minister explain why child support is paid until age of 19 and working for families paid until age of 18? It is the same government which makes the law, then why is it different???

Why is the child support payments received considered as income for the calculation for working for familes tax credit?

I am remarried with a step child, my partner does not receive any child support and has lost her job recently. I work 12 hours a day and on Saturdays. I am earning $130,000 including overtime and Saturdays, IRD has told me that I do not qualify for working for familes tax credit due to my salary being over $80,000.I am assessed to pay $1300.00 per month for child support, because IRD has adviced me that it costs $15000.00 per year to raise my child from the previos marriage,

remember there is alot of scarifices involved to get this salary, including the expense to earn this income -most expense -running cost of the vehical

My calculation:
$130,000- tax $42,000.00 = $$88000

$88000.00-$15000 =

$73000 for a family of three, mortage, cost of food, fuel, school expenses, medical, insurance.....I just do NOT know how to make end meet

If IRD is adamant that it costs $15000.00 to raise one child than equally it does cost me $15000.00 to raise this child who is living with me.

I am so upset to say "no" to my new family for things they want,

its like i am doing in justice to my new family, they are unable to stay with me in the evening and in the weekends, i am working extra hours to make end meet.....I may not have another child as I cannot afford.......It is so disappointing to see MP misusing the tax payers money with no regard

Please Minister.....make into consideration the custodial parents situation when calculation child support
