I have had Mark Miller also. I have a large file on Mr Miller creating fictitious incomes that did not match reality conerning myself. I fought Mark Miller in the complainst process ( who tried to shrug me off) all the way to the Ombudsman for his error in law. I won and Mark Miller is a evil nasty man.
God, you guys talk a load of crap. I had Mark Miller & found him to be fair & actually very nice to deal with. I ended up having to pay more in child support but it was fair & I have no complaints. You guys might be mistaking Miller for someone else - he's certainly not a small man as you're making him out to be. I'll have Miller any time for a review hearing
Nice sarcasm anonymous.This guy Miller defies belief.I took along doctor's letters , prescriptions,etc which showed that I was not able to work for 6 months and he still kept my assessed income the same as the year before.He is a national disgrace and i sudder to think of how many father-child relationships he has destroyed
We also had Mark Miller who based his assessment on fictitious incomes. We took him to the family court and got his absurd assessment overturned. He should not be allowed to work for IRD given his absurd and damaging assessments.
Having meet Mark Miller just recently in the context of child support I would have to say everything bad that is said about this evil little cretin is a gross understatement.
Have not really had anything of a relationship with any of my 4 kids since Miller worked his evil about 5 years ago. I will also most likely never return to New Zealand Hope he is reading this or at least someone in authority is.

The mother outlined a series of allegations. I was able to prove that I wasn't getting dividends and I wasn't hiding money. He completely ignored this fact and made up a huge salary circa $160k a year. I have only made this much once several years ago and he knows that.
His review riddled with basic errors. For example saying that the kids relied on the money and i had dropped my salary and they had managed to survive through hardship and difficulty and it is great credit tot them.
Well I have been paying the same amount for 8 years and the mother is wealthy and always had been.
Oh yes, he backdated it too so goodbye $40 k which I have to find in 30 days.
Does anyone have any advice apart from Family Court?

I have found Mark Miller to fine gentleman and a good person to deal with. I found that Mark Miller with fact and the IRD has got the right person that proved and balance the truth.
I have had Mark Miller as well assessing my case. It's not only father-child relationships that this man is destroying, it's mother-child too. I'm currently on an overseas posting with my husband, my children's father would not allow them to accompany us, Mark Miller has assessed me on "potential earnings" he doesn't care that I don't have a work permit, even though clearly states on my passport "not allowed to work" Doesn't care that I'm expecting a new baby, so couldn't work anyway, states that I'm single on my living status, I'm clearly married, my husband is having to fork out for my kids as well as his. Mark Miller is truly a vicious little man.

The outcome of my First Admin Review was deemed by the IRD to be "inconsistent with the law" so they ordered a second one with Miller. The result of the fist one was not disclosed.
The result of the second "admin review" was the maximum assessable income, 134k I recall, something I have never earnt in my life. I was on PAYE at the time so no fancy accounting going on.
Very interesting bunch of people is all I can say.
Time will tell with that one.
