I am a so called liable parent and my ex is going to any extent not to allow me to have shared care of this child as she will miss on the lucrative child support payments, If a parent is assessed to pay child support then the same parent should also be given chance to share the care of the child. I beleive child support should focus on promoting shared care rather than "liable parent and custodial parents."Then and only it will be fair on both parents and the child, all child support should be re-directed to family court on how parents can share responsibilities both financially and emotionally.
Child Support is a child tax, if IRD is not skilled in resolving dispute then let the family court decide the responsibilites of each parent. My ex does not allow me to have shared care as she has tols me many times that she wants money {child support} , my son goes to school and my ex wishes not to work.She is not doing anything to uplift her living. I have tried many times to have day to day care of my son, but each time my ex puts me down that my son has friends in the school he is attending and manupulates my son to speak negetively about me to the counsel. "what is more important-to build a relationship with his father or school friend. I am only used as finance source -kind thanks to IRD to force me to pay child support and not forcing my ex to allow me to have shared care or contact so in right means I can contribute to the upbrining of my son both emotionally and fiancially. I have been through variation of parenting order, but the whole judical system favours women. I am so tired and still paying the lawyers costs and child support which keeps increasing every year. I know I will never be happy ever again, even if I start a new family, they will never be happy either
If a liable parent is legally required to support a child then the same liable parent should be legally required to share day to day care or have conatct with a child. With a lot of cases and I do agree with liable parents that often the child support payment creates a lucrative barrier for a liable parent to have access to a child because the custodian feels that their child support payment will stop if the child develop a good relationship with liable parent.These children are disadvantage because IRD does not take any steps to promote contact, day to day care or share care with the liable parent
